Acne Care & Treatments
At Infinity Skin Care and Spa, we stress the importance of complete acne care, taking into consideration the specific type of acne our clients have, as well as encouraging our clients to seek the appropriate medical treatment necessary to clear certain types of acne.
Too often we see clients looking for a skin care product such as a cleanser to clear their acne, when what they need is a prescription medication. A thorough interview and skin exam is critical to recommending therapies which will clear acne. The Infinity advantage is that we are completely integrated with Town Square Dermatology so that our patients and clients can work in tandem with their physician and skin care therapist to provide comprehensive therapy. After a medical evaluation and proper use of prescription medication, additional skin care treatments and products can be provided at Infinity Skin Care and Spa to augment your medical therapy for faster, better results.
Medical microdermabrasion, chemical peels and extractions are often recommended in addition to state of the art skin care products specifically formulated to be gentle enough to use with prescription acne therapy.
Facials
Our facials are designed specifically for your skin type and condition. Facials are ideal treatments for acne, stress and dehydrated, dull skin. Every facial includes an optional steam treatment as well as a neck, shoulder, face, hand and scalp massage. Facials are a great way to combat the stress of every day life.
Rejuvenating Facial
This custom facial is excellent for all skin types. Your skin therapist will choose products based upon your needs and then help you relax into a blissful meditative state while your skin is rejuvenated!
Good Start Facial
For our younger patients, ages 12-18. Learn to care of your skin now and you will reap the rewards for years to come. Our skin care therapist will also help create a simple, personalized skin care regime to help maintain healthy, radiant skin.
Acne Facial
Special care is given to help correct and balance adolescent or adult acne prone skin. This effective facial helps reduce breakouts and excess oil with concentration on deep cleansing and extractions.
DermaSweep MD (Microdermabrasion)
Experience the DermaSweep MD, Infinity's crystal-free microdermabrasion system. This system takes microdermabrasion to the next level and offers a gentler way to achieve Microdermabrasion-like results! With three levels of treatment and the ability to infuse solutions to target specific skin problems, this system will offer amazing results and a new option to keep your skin looking and feeling smoother, younger and pigment-free.
Epi-infused microdermabrasion employs a total of five solutions, including solutions for acne, bleaching, antioxidant protection and hydration. Only one solution is used in a treatment but a single patient likely has different needs throughout the year. An acne infusion will help with plugged pores and acne in the summer. In the fall, that same patient may need a bleaching infusion to diminish brown spots after being out in the summer sun. In the winter, hydration may be the greatest need. Each treatment is customized to the individual patient. Regardless of the infused solution, each DermaSweep MD treatment provides state of the art mechanical exfoliation leaving the skin smooth and luminous. Patients notice a change after a single treatment!
The face is the most commonly treated area by the DermaSweep, followed by chest and hands. A typical session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Six sessions every two weeks is recommended, followed by maintenance treatments a few times a year.
Chemical Peels
Advantages
Fast and no downtime! Infinity Skin Care and Spa continually researches the latest advances in chemical peel treatments in order to provide the most effective peels available on the market. Our chemical peels provide epidermal resurfacing through chemical exfoliation and increased cellular turnover. A series of chemical peels smoothes rough texture, evens skin tone, fades brown spots and pigmentation, decreases fine wrinkles, and improves acne and whiteheads. Stimulates collagen with repeated treatments.
Disadvantages
Series of treatments required. Some flaking possible 1-5 days after treatment.
Visia Complexion Analysis
The Infinity Skin Care and Spa team is proud to be Eastern Iowa's first and only spa to offer this exciting skin imaging system.
The VISIA Complexion Analysis System is a self-contained unit that captures multi-spectral photos of the face, pores, evenness (color variation in the skin tone) porphyrins (evidence of bacteria in the pores) and UV spots (caused by sun damage). Patients who receive a VISIA complexion analysis also receive a report that grades their skin relative to others of the same age and skin color. A patient can instantly see how their skin measures up compared to his or her peers.
VISIA imaging and analysis helps us to develop more targeted treatment programs, communicate more effectively with clients, and better track treatment outcomes. After the initial baseline photos, an ongoing skin care plan is recommended, with treatments and products that will work best for that person's skin type.

Sclerotherapy (For Spider Veins)
Eliminate unsightly spider veins on the legs-the small blood vessels that lie close to the surface of the skin and have a red to blue-colored appearance. Patients with spider veins on their legs, thighs or buttocks often shy away from wearing shorts and swimwear because of the web-like appearance of these veins.
Sclerotherapy is a treatment administered by Dr. Schulz at Infinity Skin Care and Spa that offers dramatic clearing of spider veins. Hypertonic saline solution is injected into the spider veins, causing a "scarring down" of the vessel so it can no longer be seen. Sclerotherapy is more effective, less painful and less expensive than laser treatment of spider veins on legs.
